A good Start would be Body weight x15 so 2250. Minus calories if your not Loosing weight, or add calories if you are loosing weight to fast. Your diet will need to change as you get closer to the contest. 2250 is just a starting number.
hey i want to lose belly fat…any tips or just give me a full diet plan..
Some diet tips for Loosing fat:
Must be an a caloric deficit (burning more calories then you take in)
A good caloric starting number is body weight in pounds x 15.
A good rate of weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week, but this depends on your current Bodyfat levels.
Keep your protein intake high to maintain muscle.
Eat a sufficient amount of carbohydrates so you can continue to perform well in the gym. But still remain in a caloric deficit.
Eat health fats, omegas etc, as these actualy help with fat burning!
Track your progress so you can see if something is working or not!

ok i train like a beast everyday for 2 hours twice a day
my eating habbits are not that well off
and idk how to compete in competitions so will u help me out?
@Samuel
Ok 1st off, you dont need to train for 2 hours twice a day!
1 hour of hard training each day, 4-5 times a week is perfect for building mass.
Perfect your diet! and Learn how your body reacts to different nutrients. Make sure your diet is working for your current goal, wether it be gaining mass or loosing body fat. Always Track your progress!
There are many different bodybuilding federations, choose one that you want to compete in, then visit their website and see what contests they have in your area. They will also most likely have instructions on how to enter their contests.
how many calories do i need to gain mass weight 153 would like to get to 160 for a starting point
Where can I learn about how to eat correctly and such? Basically is there a guide anywhere out there that introduces bodybuilding to teens??
Thanks guys
I want to compete, I weigh 117lbs(8-10% fat) and am 5’6, how big do I need to be to be competetive and what shows should I enter first? Im want to be the best at the sport and be very successful.
If competing in OBC shows and placing well in teen division or winning will that help getting sponsored?
@iain
A good Calorie starting number for adding mass is Bodyweight x20, or Bodyweight x15 +200-500 cals
so about 2500 to 3000 cals would be a good start.
@Sam Mukhin
Here is a teen bodybuilding guide article we have on our website:
http://seriousteenbodybuilding.com/wp/2010/06/03/layne-nortons-teen-bodybuilding-guide/
@Tristan
have a look around our site, and see the body-weights of the bodybuilders, that will give you a good idea.
At the end of the day, they do not weigh you on the stage, so dont be too focused on body weight, just use it as one of your tools to track your progress, aswell as the MIRROR, BodyFat Tests etc.
@Adam
Yes, winning Bodybuilding contests and getting your name out there will indeed help you get sponsored by a company!
How would I go about entering a natural bodybuilding competition
@Cody
A good website to visit would be NaturalBodybuildingevents.com they have a list of all the states and all the contests in those areas. Find a Show that is close to you, each show usually has a website, or a person you can contact about entering it.
ok thx
I heard about the Bionic Edge Mass Gainer from Nick Wright and I looked it up on bodybuilding.com and it is a very expensive product. If I was to buy a $100 10lb container of it, would that be enough to see significant gains or are several 10lb containers needed?
@Kyle
Do not expect to see significant gains just because you have started taking a new product. Significant gains will come from months and years of consistent hard training and a proper diet geared toward your goals.
Gains are usually noticeable after 6-10 weeks of consistent training and nutrition.
okai I am 16 years old about 165-170 lbs low in BF and I’m 5 feet 4 inches..i have been training for about 8 months I gained about 35 lbs..i was 128 lbs bfore..i want to enter a competition but I don’t know how to get started or where to go.
Is it possible to sculpt a muscle group while cutting? I got to around 230 with 16% Body fat while never training abs, now as I cut for my competition I realized…at a lower body fat. My abs still may not be there. So it is possible to develop them or make them grow WHILST I diet?
How’d you guys find motivation to go to the gym ad keep going?
@josue Sosa
Start out by looking for a contest in your area that is is at a date that you will have plenty of time to prepare for!
To look for contests, I would recommend NaturalBodybuildingevents.com.
Choose your contest, and get in contact with the organizer, ask them what you need to do to enter the contest,
Usually you need to 1st become a member of that particular federation which usually requires a yearly membership fee.
Then enrol for the contest you want to compete in, and get preparing!
Give yourself atleast 12 weeks to prepare for a contest. I would recommend at least 15 weeks if it’s your 1st contest!
im looking to get started in competitions and i was wondering how to get started or if i look like im ready there are some pics of me on my web page an advice
@Flocka Flame
Yes it is Possible to develop your abs while you cut.
Also As your Bodyfat lowers your abs will become more visible.
hey what type of food should i be eating to loose belly fat but at the same time high in protein and helping e get big
hi im having a hard time gaining weight i want to hit 200lbs + right now im 187 and 6’2 do you have any tips?
@Matt
Best way to stay motivated is to set a goal, set an achievable goal, with a time frame. Make every day accountable to that goal. Keep that goal in your mind, and work your hardest towards it. REMEMBER why you go to the gym every day.
@Nathan Heimone
Getting started is as simple as finding a contest that suits you, and committing yourself to compete in it!
Get in contact with the organizer, and find out what you need to do to enter the contest!
what type of food should i be eating to get big and loose belly fat. eg high in protein please help
@wirea hagreves
It is hard to Loose body fat and build muscle, but the best way to go about it would be, Eating 200-300 calories over your Lean Body Mass maintenance , so if you are 200lbs and 15% Body fat, your lean body mass would be around 170lbs.
so 170lbs x15 +300 = 2850. There is a starting number for a 200lbs person with 15% Body fat. It is so important to track your progress tightly to make sure things are working, and so you can change things if they aren’t.
Yes keep your protein high, and enough carbs for energy to perform well in the gym.
Eggs, Red meat, Chicken, Fish. Oats, Rice, Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Pastas etc, good food!!!
What do you recommend to help ease tendanitis in knees or in elbows..
@Pshizzle
Tips for Gaining Weight.
- Remember gaining weight comes down to calories in vs Calories out. You need to be eating more calories then you burn.
- Make Sure you are eating enough protein! 1-2g per pound of bodyweight.
- Dont forget healthy Fats!
Tips for adding calories to your diet:
- OLIVE OIL!! add it to some of your protein shakes, (not for post workout)
Olive oil is a great source of healthy fats, and is calorie DENCE!
- MILK!! Drink your MILK!! Dont be afraid to wash down some of your meals with a big glass of milk! it is a great protein and even carbohydrate source!
@Matt
For the Knees, i recommend Body weight Squats, and TKE’s Use them to warm up before any leg workouts.
ICE your Knees and Elbows after EVERY workout! Tendinitis is a tough one, and some times just needs rest.
hey this may be asking to much. but im 17 keen to start body building would it be posible if u write me up at days diet eg high protein diet low fat.
@Mark Lomu
i cant give you a full diet plan, but i can give you some help so you can make your own!
what is your current bodyweight and what is your goal? Bulk up? Or Loose Bodyfat?
hey. my goal is to bulk up and get big . my current body weight is 88kg
height 1.84 cm
bodyfat 13% i would also like to loose a litle bit of belly fat.
can u give me a good tricep workout to do?
@Mark Lomu
Alright, a good calorie starting number for you would be 3200-3400 calories.
try to get in 200-300g of protein a day.
Protein Sources:
Lean Meats such as, Red Meat, Fish, Chicken, turkey etc. As well as eggs, milk, yogurt, Whey Protein etc.
Also Try to get in 100g of Healthy fats a day, Nuts, peanut butter, almond butter, avacado, olive oil etc.
And get the rest of your calories from carbohydrates like; Rice, Oats, Potatoes, pasta, Breads etc.
1g Protein = 4 calories
1g Carbohydrate = 4 calories
1g Fat = 9 calories
So with 250 Protein, and 100g Fat thats 1900 Calories, that leaves about 1300-1500 calories left for carbs, So about 350 – 400g carbs.
Hope that helps
@Matt
Heres a good tricep Workout:
Weighted Dips 3×10
Rope Push Downs 3×10
Dumbbell Overhead Extensions 3×10
thanks man, another quick question if u dont mind, whats the difference between db overhead extension and skulls crushers laying on a flat bench, they both target the long head of the tris right? which one is better for mass u would say?
how long does it take to transfer your body when training hard.
@Matt
Both are good exercises, I wouldnt say one is better then the other, but the overhead extension does allow for more stretch at the bottom of the movement & skull crushers do put alot of pressure on the elbows. Switch between the two for variation.
@Niel
Not sure what you mean bro?
like how long does it take to for you to start seeing changes in your body when you train
@Neil
It usually takes about 6-8 weeks of consistent training and solid nutrition to see noticeable changes.
hey ive just bought size on creatine how am i ment to take it. it does not say on the pak
@Bret
I would say 1 serving post workout would do the trick!
What do i have to do,to become futured.If im have contests only on future?

I encourage you to compete in a bodybuilding contest!
After You Compete, then apply to be featured!

http://seriousteenbodybuilding.com/wp/featured-teen-bodybuilders/apply-now/
if i weight 140lbs how many months would it take me to get to 200lbs
one more thing is that true that animal pak can cause rocks in your liver
@Luis
It would take about 2-3 years to get to 200lbs with out getting too fat.
And No that is not true.
If im 14 years old can i be futured?My first contests is on June 25
ok what type of supplements should i take to build muscle fast…
how many times a week should i be traing each muscle eg. monday i train arms when should my next arm work out be.
@John that depends on the total volume of each workout, and your personal recovery abilities, i recommend training each body part twice every 10 days, with Low – Medium Volume each session.
@Luis
Unfortunately there is no magic supplement that will make you build muscle fast! A Solid consistent Nutrition plan & hard training is the fastest way to building muscle!
@jevgeniji
We recommend you apply to be featured when your 16+ this gives you enough time to build some solid muscle. If how ever you are a one of a kind 14 year old, you can apply to be featured after you have competed!

thanks for that. hepled me alot.
could u tell me what i could do to make it abetter diet?
I 14 now.Can i use Syntha 6?
@ John
Simply calculating your protein intake is one step to improving your diet, so try to get in atleast 1g per pound of bodyweight each day!
@Jevgenij
Ofcourse!
hi there. how do you lose belly fat but at the same time gain (weight or buluk up)
just wondering if you eat foods low in fat but high in protein eg cans of tuna chicken will that help you get big and bulk up
@body
Loosing Fat and Bulking up is very very complicated, It would require a perfect diet, with Just enough food to gain muscle. Story short, it is a tough thing to do, and you are better off trying to gain lean mass, and worry about the stubborn body fat when you are ready to cut.
Protein in a KEY FACTOR to building muscle.
hi is it true going for long walks will help you lose body fat without losing any muscle.
@Sam
Long walks alone will not help you loose bodyfat.
To loose bodyfat you must be in a caloric deficit. Burning more then you take in. Simply the slower you loose bodyweight the more likely you will keep more muscle mass, depending on your current bodyfat levels.
Long walks are just another way to burn calories. How ever from a performance perspective they are very inefficient. You can burn alot more calories with 15 minutes of high intensity cardio.
i am 150 lbs 5.7 height… In how long can i gain 30 lbs of muscle..? And what type of training should i use.. Bodybuilding splits , powerbuilding splits , upper under body or all in one…?
Would probably take around 2 years to build 30 lbs of pure muscle, depending on your genetics. In terms of training, a combination of power lifting and bodybuilding is a very good way to get off to a good start and build a solid foundation of strength and size.
hi there.
im 17 weiht 90 kgs body fat percent is 14.5 im currently playing physical sport and wanting to bulk up is it posible to buff up to about 100 kgs buy october/november then start ripping my body up for summer and contest please help.
@Sam, it is possible, but it is likely you will gain body fat when trying to gain weight rapidly.
what type of food should you be eating when wanting to ripp up your bidy
@Athen
Clean healthy foods, plenty of protein, Chicken, fish. and you need to be in a caloric deficit to burn body-fat; meaning burning more then you eat.
do you guys sell hoodies??
do you guys sell jumpers?
7:52 am
how much calories should someone who weighs about 150lbs.take in for getting ready for a competition that is 12 weeks away
